Matt Symes – “Sport, The First World War and Canada”

Matt Symes will be speaking about sport, the First World War and Canada. Symes is the publications manager/online editor for the Laurier Centre for Military Strategic and Disarmament Studies and his academic interests focus on gender, sport and war and society studies. His PhD work focuses on recreational sports as integral to Canadian military training in the Second World War. He is also an author and editor of canadianmilitaryhistory.ca.

The upcoming presentation is the third of a lecture series being presented in partnership with Laurier and the Great War Centenary Association.
