Friday Roundup: News, Archives, and Useful Links on the Study of War and Society – April 12th 2013

The Friday Roundup is a weekly feature that offers a look at news, archive, and worthwhile links around the web on the study of War and Society. This week’s documentary, Vimy Ridge: Heaven to Hell, offers a good look at the battle of Vimy Ridge. Although it has its History Channel quirks, it is fun to watch and the archaeology sections are very interesting.

3799584An excellent resource for all things Great War. There are pictures and maps and biographies and even technical explanations of how weapons worked and were deployed. The material is also covers almost every participant. While the primary sources are not as in-depth as some other sites, the material provided is still good and easy to navigate through.
