Guelph Civic Museum, 9 April – Mike Bechthold – “Canada and Vimy Ridge: An Iconic Battle”

The Battle of Vimy Ridge was the first time during the Great War that all four Canadian Divisions assembled to fight as one corps. The Canadian objective during the Vimy Ridge Battle was to take control of the German-held northern escarpment. After four days of battle, the Canadian Corps achieved their objective but suffered over 10,000 casualties.

It will soon be the 97th anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge and to commemorate the important battle of the First World War, the Guelph Civic Museum is hosting Michael Bechthold, who will speak on Canada and Vimy Ridge — An Iconic Battle.

The event takes place Wednesday, April 9 at 2 p.m.

The talk is included with regular admission.
