Throughout the past century, technology has been advancing at an exponential rate. From everyday household products and social networking to the more exclusive tools of governments and militaries, technology is increasingly impacting virtually all areas of our lives.

In the video below, CNN’s Sara Snider examines Israel’s new drone technology. Capable of scanning targets up to 90 miles away and staying in the air for 24 hours, the Israeli Heron I possesses some of the most advanced radar technology currently available. Acknowledging that so many countries are striving to develop their unmanned aerial vehicles, a retired Israeli Air Force captain states, “This is the kind of upgraded technology militaries all over the world are after.”

With such powerful military machines constantly evolving, we need to seriously consider and evaluate the human role in future combat – however certain or uncertain that future may be.
