Do I need to download Zoom to attend?

No, but you will find that it is a better experience if you do. Zoom may be downloaded for free at

How do I join one of the sessions?

Shortly before the event date you will be emailed a copy of the conference program with a link and passcode specific to each panel. Simply click the title of the session you wish to join and enter the appropriate passcode.

Can the presenters see/hear me?


Is closed captioning available?

Yes. Click the “CC Live Transcript” button on your Zoom toolbar to activate it or adjust the settings, including font size.

Please note that the captions are computer-generated. While it is generally quite accurate, errors will occur, especially with non-English words.

Will there be an opportunity to ask questions?

Yes, you can submit written questions during each panel. You can submit questions through the Q&A function on Zoom. The panel chair will moderate and relay questions to the appropriate presenter.

Can I switch between concurrent panels during a session?

Yes, simply leave one panel then follow the login instructions for the other panel.

Will recordings of the keynote or plenary addresses be available online afterwards? 

Yes, they will be posted to the LCMSDS YouTube channel HERE.

Will recordings of the panels be available online afterwards? 


Will the Canadian Military History Colloquium return to normal for 2022?
